Letter From Brig.-General Macbrien, Commanding 12th Canadian Infantry Brigade In France, To Lt.-Col. Kirkcaldy, Commanding The 78th Cef Battalion Winnipeg Grenadiers. The Losses Referred To Were Avenged A Couple Of Days Later By A Raid Which Took A Heavy Toll On The Germans. The Crater Referred To Is 80 Feet By 30 Feet And Is Now Known As "Winnipeg Grenadiers' Crater" And Will Stand For Years To Come As A Monument To The Important Work Carried Out By This Grenadier Battalion On That Date |
